Who is Jessica and what kinds of adventures does she have?
Who am I?
I’m a former New Yorker who’s been living in Israel for the last 28 years, landing here for personal reasons but quickly realizing there’s no more fertile ground for a reporter than this crazy, intense place.
That said, politics have never been my beat. It’s hard to avoid in these parts, but it can be done! And while I’ve spent time covering the conflict, along with high-tech startups and the first Kentucky Fried Chicken in the Gaza Strip, I’ve always known that what I excel at is the fun stuff. It’s true, I write about the fun stuff and I’m proud of it!
I can tell you the best restaurants in town and where to find a good cocktail, the perfect gift to bring home and what Israeli designers are working on now. I know which Israeli shows are worth watching on Netflix, the wineries that warrant a visit and which hotels to choose for a stay.
I can tell you a lot about Jerusalem, where I live, but I’m pretty knowledgeable about Tel Aviv and other places, too.
What’s more, anyone who knows me, knows that I know. I love to share that information, to connect, inform and then hear back from friends and friends of friends that they followed my advice and loved it too.
What you’ll get in Jessica's Excellent Adventures
As the arts and culture writer and occasional podcast host for The Times of Israel, I’m pretty busy, but that means more behind-the-scenes info for Jessica’s Excellent Adventures, where I plan to post updates twice a week, one free and one by paid subscription, and more if it’s a busy week.
